On Tuesday, Jan. 27, Fountain Valley High School (FVHS) Girls’ Basketball played against the Huntington Beach High School (HBHS) Oilers for their senior night. 5 seniors were recognized including Sophie Hsieh, Kaylin Huynh, Avery Jones, Kailey Nishi, Kaylana Sitanggan, and Helen William. The Barons fought hard, but unfortunately lost to the Oilers 47-60.

On Tuesday, Jan. 13 the Barons lost 44-47 against Los Alamitos Griffins in a fierce fight.
On Thursday, Jan. 8, Fountain Valley High School girls’ varsity basketball team earned a strong win against Newport Harbor, finishing the game with a 59–46 victory.

The Barons clinched the Sunset League title in a two-way tie with the Griffins, who they defeated 43-40 on Monday’s final league game.
The Barons held the Sea Queens scoreless from the field in the third quarter, igniting a nine-point run that helped secure a 44-30 win on Thursday.
Nishi scored nine three-pointers in the Barons’ 67-42 win, breaking the previous record of eight three-pointers held by her sister Melody Nishi.
Electrifying offense and a strong defensive performance earned the Barons a 64-23 win on Thursday, their largest victory of the season so far.
