Bringing a smile to the faces of those around her with her bubbly personality, freshman Zoe Tran is a welcome addition to Baron Banner.
Tran’s passion for photography played a big role in her decision to join Baron Banner when she heard about the class in eighth grade. This eagerness was sparked when she joined her middle school’s yearbook and is more than happy to continue on this love in Baron Banner.
“I want to improve my writing,” Tran said. “I never have ideas in my mind, and I thought that if I was in Baron Banner then I’d have more thoughts.”
Besides photography, Tran enjoys going on shopping sprees to add to her growing wardrobe, describing her style as simple and comfortable. Her sprees serve as an opportunity to spend quality time and catch up with her friends.
“I like shopping because it makes me bond with my friends,” Tran said. “When I’m shopping with my best friend, it makes me feel like I’m connecting with her more because we’re hanging out together while shopping.”
Another one of Tran’s hobbies is playing tennis. She started at six years old and didn’t like the sport at first, but with hard work and improvements, Tran has learned to love the sport.
“I didn’t like playing with other people. I was kind of insecure as a kid, but my coach was really nice and she helped me,” Tran said. “I started really liking the sport; I really enjoyed the art because it’s also something very beautiful.”
At school, Zoe is very studious; she hopes to become an orthodontist like her aunt. Tran says that her inspiration in life is all the people around her who help her when she’s struggling.
Tran also places her value in her community and hopes to do the best for it. On the weekend, she helps out at the National Charity League with her mom.
“I volunteer at the charity because I get to give back to my community,” Tran said. “I also like to volunteer because I get to go and spend time with my mom.’’
Tran likes to do a lot for her community and loves spending time with her friends and family; however, when she’s alone, she finds enjoyment in South Korean entertainment including K-dramas such as Kingdaland and K-pop groups such as Aespa.
Going into freshman year, Tran is excited but also very nervous. She hopes to stay on top of all her classes, to continue to give back to her community and to spend time with friends to find a good school-life balance.
“I like to be kind to everyone because if they are kind to you then it makes me happy,” Tran said.
