With the lasting sun, most people tend to want something cold to eat. Luckily, Golden Spoon, a frozen yogurt shop, opened in Fountain Valley about a month ago. It’s only a five-minute drive from Fountain Valley High School, making it a perfect hangout place.
Interior & Customer Service
The inside was nearly empty with only a few tables and chairs, but it was brightly lit and super clean. On the wall was a bright sign that had a picture of frozen yogurt and the words “Golden Spoon, Fountain Valley” above the yogurt and “Stay Cool, Swirl On” on the bottom.
The employees were nice, helping answer any questions asked and being patient while I chose my order.
Yogurt
Golden Spoon sells a variety of flavors and toppings. Unlike Yogurtland, the place isn’t self-serve, so you order at the counter. The workers also put the yogurt before adding the toppings, rather than after, making it in between the flavors. This is to ensure an equal distribution of toppings, instead of just having toppings on the top portion of yogurt.
Underneath each flavor, it said if it was non-fat, low-fat, gluten-free or had no sugar added. This helps with any customers’ concerns in knowing which flavors might make their stomach uneasy.

When I arrived at the store, they did not have any strawberry or raspberry in stock so I tried the flavors “Old Fashion Vanilla” and “Cookies N Cream.” Both flavors were really creamy, and I loved the vanilla flavor. However, the cookies and cream tasted more of a chocolate and vanilla and not the Oreo flavor as I thought it would be.
Overall
From the ambiance to the customer service to the variety of flavors, you should definitely check out Golden Spoon if you haven’t already. It’ll be like eating liquid gold from how delicious it is.
