What’s a good way to spark creativity, boost morale and bring your coworkers closer together? With a desk decor competition, of course!
Kirsten Campbell, Fountain Valley High School (FVHS)’s Guidance Secretary, has found an excellent way to keep the FVHS office in spirit and liven up the workplace.
“We wanted to have a little fun in the month of October because there are a lot of non-fun events going on, like work stuff. I wanted to do something everyone could partake in, and I thought a desk decorating competition would be fun,” Campbell said.

The wonderful thing about this competition is that it’s so inclusive: you can do whatever you want for your decorations. Want to follow the spooky theme of October? Make a Halloween-themed desk. Feeling festive for Christmas? Add a few Santa hats and snowflakes!

At the end of this competition, all participants will have their desks judged by administrative members.
When asked who she thought would win this competition, Campbell said, “I think it’s a tie between the attendance ladies and [our registrar]. The attendance ladies have gone all out in this competition, but Lee-Hanamura has a beautiful light-up tree.”
