PHOTO ESSAY: Girls’ Basketball slashes the Temescal Canyon Titans in first round CIF playoffs

Fountain Valley High School girls’ basketball (6-6 league, 17-14 overall) secured its second-round appearance in five CIF playoff appearances on Wednesday, making this its second-ever advance past the first round of the CIF playoffs since 2019.

The Barons held a strong lead throughout the quarters, ending with a 75-35 victory in their Division 5A opener against Temescal Canyon (6-2 league, 12-18 overall).

Sophomore Truley Nguyen, who scored a game-high for the Barons with 24 points, converted 20 points in the first quarter alone.
