One would assume that the beloved Fountain Valley Library would be home to a selection of books, that while at your disposal for check-out, are not yours exclusively to keep. However, a hidden bookstore in the library proves otherwise. This bookstore is worked by a team of volunteers that sells donations to benefit the OCPL system. The proceeds go directly to support the love of literacy in our community. The bookstore sells books at extremely low prices from $0.50 for paperback to $14 dollars for kitschy items such as tea pot sets or kooky figurines.
The store sells everything from eight-tracks, cassettes, and VHS tapes for you hipster-types to CDS as well as large-font materials for the hard of sight. There are romance novels, puzzles, and magazines galore. It even has a children’s corner, and a self-help section too to be the panacea for all your troubles. In a world where independent bookstores are few and far between, don’t hesitate to check out the Friends Bookstore.
Support the fight for a well-read world, and support your local library by buying a book or two.
