With three games in one week, girls golf was able to shoot some of their best scores through continual practice and much dedication.
Longer practice in and out of regular practice is something the team said helps greatly against Edison, Marina and Los Al.
Varsity captain Vivienne Nguyen (’15) said she practices longer on her own as well as plays their home course on the weekends.
The lady barons began with a close loss against Edison with a score of 207-220 on October 7th.
However, other varsity captain Lilia Vu (’15) and freshman player Breanna Bui (’18) scored the best rounds in the girls second game against Edison.
The girls next game against Marina was a victory. Not only did the girls collectively shoot their best team score of the season, but players Emily Bui (’16) and Breanna Bui shot their personal best rounds.
With a final score of 211-213 the lady barons had a fantastic game.
“I used to count after every single hole but now I’m more focused on my game rather than my score. I’m also practicing a lot more than I did last year,” Emily Bui said.
The girls next game was another close loss against Los Al, but with Breanna Bui having the low score of a 49.
The great increase in individual practice contributed greatly to the lady barons team scores.
Melissa Kittredge (’17) said practice is the essential part to personally improving in golf skills.
Congratulations to Lilia Vu And Melissa Kittredge
