The planter emblazoned with the school’s initials was recently moved to the first entrance in the school.
Normally seen on the football field facing Bushard Street, the planter was relocated because its windscreen was blocking the sunlight.
The idea to move the plants came from the PTSA, whose members believed that the plants should be displayed outside the school near the driving entrance.
However, before the decision could be made to relocate the plants to that specific spot, other options were considered. Locations such as outside the administration building, in front of the bowl, and the other side of the field were discussed as possible options.
The planning began a month after the windscreen was built. The planter was meant to be moved again, but there were problems with the logistics of where it was meant to go.
Besides the lack of sunlight, the windscreen also blocked passers-by from viewing the plants. The PTSA invested time and money into the plants and wanted to make sure it could seen.
Activities Director Joseph Fraser said, “We want to make sure it is seen and enjoyed by everybody.”
The design for the flower arrangement is still the same. The only difference is that it has been relocated. Now that there is nothing blocking their sunlight, hopefully the flowers will thrive and show school spirit.
