Nico Caman , a 17-year-old Argentinian exchange student, stayed with a family in Fountain Valley starting in August 2012. He plans to leave June 23.
Caman’s most memorable part of his experience at Fountain Valley High School was playing in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) tennis league. “I like to play tennis and I really enjoy the time with the guys,” he said.
The best part of the tennis season was playing on a team. He said, “Tennis is an individual sport and being a part of a team for the first time was great.”
His favorite academic class, however, was United States History. Caman preferred his history class to his others because of “the way Ms. White teaches and how she makes the class and history much more fun.”
“There are 3,600 kids. There are a lot of different personalities,” Caman said. “There were a lot of guys that were very friendly to me and helped me with my language barrier at the beginning of the year.”
